Mahomets Flats

"EASY ACCESS TO TOWN, BEACH."

I lived in Glass cresent for about 3 plus years before moving to Perth. It is so close to hospitals, super markets, service stations, beach and town centre. On weekends we went fishing, swimming around the local beaches and harbour and often went camping just out of town on the beaches. The Mahomets area seems to be preaty secure as we were away from the house alot with no problems. There use to be a bit of road noise with the old highway round about system but that changed alot with the new highway changes and new sound wall. We use to get the southerly breeze on hot days that quickly cooled us down instead of running the aircon.
We love the area and have often said we will return back to Geraldton when we retire because of the fantastic life sytle up there, we enjoyed it so much we now have a block in the area that we plan to build on in years ahead.
we still have friends there and regularly visit the area through the year for functions etc

Great for

  • Cheep as chips on comparison to Perth beach blocks and houses.
  • Easy layed back area and life systle. the fishing is good the beaches are uncrowded and very nice and usually clean of seaweed and man rubbish.
  • Friendly neighbours, nice houses surrounded us.

Not great for

  • The local highway can get a bit busy early mid morning and late afternoon.
  • People up there tend to move a little to slow at times on the roads and when shopping.
  • I found the local shire a bunch of knobs and a bit of a old boys club, old fashioned until the town elected a woman with vision.
