Grindelwald

"Beautiful vistas a short drive from the city"

Grindelwald is quite simply a wonderful place to live. Coming from mainland Australia we deliberately sought a quiet, beautiful suburb along the West Tamar that would suit our family of four. Grindelwald ticks all our boxes...it is extremely safe , has acreage blocks with room for animals, has a plethora of native wildlife and is close enough to Launceston to be a short drive to good schools and medical facilities.
The suburb lies on top of a hill and has breathtaking views along the Tamar Valley and also lies above the fog line. In Winter, the houses are bathed in morning sun and the views down to the rolling fog are just incredible. Equally amazing are the visible sunsets and sunrises, the sky seems to put on a spectacular show.
Neighbours are friendly and the presence of the Tamar Valley Resort provides a point of community and local interest.
Overall, the suburb is exceptionally beautiful with established trees, well kept gardens and interesting housing. The gardens display the colours of the four seasons beautifully and I have often been quite literally gob smacked by the scenery on local drives.
