Bracken Ridge

"A pretty - and convenient - neighbourhood."

As a relative newcomer to the area, (we have been in Deagon 12 months), I must admit we were sceptical about our decision to move to this area initially. However, our children were established in school in Shorncliffe after we had migrated to Sandgate two years previously and had rented to get a feel for the village before we decided whether to buy here or not. We discovered we couldn't afford Sandgate, regretfully, but really enjoyed the little village, which basically has everything you need for weekly living. Deagon was the next best option as Brighton was too far away from the train, which is necessary for our family as we use the service daily. We are now really enjoying this area as the people are really friendly, the streets are wide and flat, (great for cycling), the shopping area is only 800 metres, we have the benefits of being near the beach and the sea breezes, and we are so well located for the highways to the north and south coasts, and the airport which we regularly frequent. The area, although previously tired, is being restored and renewed everywhere you look. You have the advantage of being able to find some nice new homes, (or old), with the benefit of well established trees. That is something the new areas also can't offer! We may not have the most thriving night life here but there are several options in bars, restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Anything else is only a train ride away. Can't fault it really.
