We moved to Homebush West and chose it for its proximity to Sydney CBD, access to public transport, arterial routes to airport, northern suburbs and Parramatta. Our apartment was nestled in a very nice pocket of apartment complexes next to older homes with large land sizes now the site of newer buildings. It was very handy for us as we liked to be out and about every weekend so its location provided us access to main roads and freeways in all 4 directions as well as public transport if required which was only a short walk away. A bonus was the fresh food market conveniently located nearby which meant we ate good quality for less and had alot more cash in our hands than if we solely relied on supermarkets.. We enjoyed being so close to DFO and Auburn factory outlets as well as Parramatta, Top Ryde or Burswood Shopping Centres. We enjoyed Sydney Olympic Park and got to watch many NRL games as well as V8 super cars and would frequent the many walking trails and swimming pool it has to offer. We would go out in the City or the Cross and catch a cab or the bus home which had a stop at the end of our st on Parramatta Rd. We had an option to attend our gym in North Strathfield or Auburn which was great. All in all we had a great quality of life in Homebush West as a young couple who liked to make the most of all Sydney had to offer. My only complaint would be traffic noise which you get used to and is nowhere near as bad as other suburbs.
