I've been living in Mascot for more than half year and I love the place. The best thing I can say about Mascot is its convenient location that connects you to every place in Sydney due to its proximity to the airport - a place should be made convenient to many travellers around Sydney. I am rarely caught in a traffic jam (the only chance this can happen is there is a road work or accident) and it has several different routes to the city area. Unlike the western and inner west area which make me frustrated every time I drive the car.
Mascot is full of potential since it's close to the city and lots of developments have been taken place. It will attract more people and more businesses to come in so the facilities can much be improved and a lot easier for grocery shopping and perhaps better transport.
The only shortcomings are the little plane noise and yet to improve public transport. I'm glad to see the No.20 Metro bus has started service in Mascot and significantly reduced the waiting time for bus traveling to and from the city. I wish there will be some more bus services connecting the train station or O'riordan/Bourke st to the city and the price of train service to be reduced.
