"ESK - Historic village with charm needs you"
One of the few villages left in South East Queensland that still have 75% of houses in the traditional Queenslander style. Sadly, in recent years a few nice 'Queenslanders' have been allowed to be moved out of town. Shame on the real estate agent involved and the totally ignorant Esk Shire Council that sees nothing wrong with it. This little gem of a village needs people that care about the protection of historic buildings and good old fashioned country life. Esk is a nice place to live.
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
- Retirees
moving in a couple of month from the hot tropics. Glad to see so many positive comments. We are retirees, we lived in Sydney's Western Suburbs , and we won't miss the busy lifestyle nor the Sydney's Western Suburb lifestyle, not one bit. Nth QLD is beautiful, but too hot . We look forward to our new place.
Sounds Great. Any comments about Moore? Similar perhaps?
I completely agree with the above comments about Esk being a nice place to live, but putting heritage restrictions on old buildings can be a great idea in theory, but can be a financial disaster for the owners and also extremely limit the owners' freedom with their property. I was sorry to see the old house on Elizabeth Street moved to acreage, but it is their house and their choice.
