Rottnest Island

"What a delightful borough"

Ah Rotto. I fondly remember being chased by a ferral, vicious quokka in the Summer of 99.... such memories I cherish. If you don't have a car, you are in trouble. If you have a bike and are unfit, again, you are in trouble.

"Jolly good fun"

I like Cottlesloe, though seeing old men in "one-size too small for them" Speedo's and tighty-whities is cringe worthy and has been putting me off of late. Wanna buy a house? 3 bedroom joints are over 1mill, no cheapskates allowed

High Wycombe

"Flying low"

On the plus side, by living here you won't need a lift to the international or domestic terminals of Perth airport. The rest of your family will be able to hear your plane take-off too.

I agree with Mr Bino. I have relo's who live here and I can hear planes flying over us when I pay them a visit. Not very serene.

ksmlc

You must be near Abernathy to hear the planes.. we hardly heard the planes and rarely the train. Good community good people the odd Hoon but I loved high Wycombe would have stayed there if I could and edney ps is an awesome school..

"If you live in Yanchep, then pay a visit"

Cool for a surf. If you're gonna visit Two Rocks, why not go an extra 5kms north to visit Geraldton? Do make sure theres a BP, Coles Express or Gull petrol station nearby though aye?

AlBino, if you think Geraldton is only 5kms up the road from Two Rocks, you should not have to worry about petrol. You could walk there. Even if you travelled from south of Perth, there are several service stations along the way including Yanchep.

KarenB7

Geraldton is a lot further up north! Hahah, it's over 300km! I don't think AlBino has visited WA.

Karawara

"Look out for the yobbos and dodgey shopping center....."

Karawara's shopping center car park is likely to be finished in the year 2020. You've got a long wait, folks.

Are you trying to sell a house in a surrounding suburb? - your bad review on Karawara is questionable.
I have lived in Karawara for several years never encounted these so called yobbos (Drive to carousel to see them there) and the shopping centre when finished later this year (not 2020) will be one of best shopping centres in the greater district - two supermarkets, eating options, new tavern, and various smaller stores.
Karawara is one of the better suburbs I have lived in .

heavylifting

Karawara is a dump. Houses are old and poor quality except the few newly built ones that are under 3 years old. There are not many 2-story houses either. Being close to Curtin University is both good and bad: good = transportation, good for your teenage kids.... bad = too many students, traffic, and the huge amount of international students that live here don't speak very good english and confuse me with their questions (by the way, I am NOT a racist, I'm half Aussie half Italian and am proud of my multicultural heritage).

The shopping center is a disgrace. The parking is ridiculous, plus there's not enough shops in it. The new carpark is taking ages to get completed.

If you're looking for a house in an excellent suburb, Karawara's not it.

Kazawara

The Waterford Plaza Shopping Centre is very civilised .. Great restaurants and specialty stores with two supermarkets .. Even have a fantastic dentist in the centre. Parking can be a challenge but there is always roof top parking available with an escalator

With the lake, raptor birds and IGA close by, what else does a modern; young; hip; sociable; shopaholic and party-animal possibly need??

1
Hypnophobia

Ha ha ha ha ha! That's funny, but TRUE! Gwelup is full of old people and no life, very boring.

alices

Any problems with midgies at night time if your're near one of the swamps? Do frogs venture out onto peoples properties? Looking to move to Gwelup.
Great to hear any comments you have regarding beasties.

aliv

Love of nature and all the beasties would be a good reason to live here. If you don't like frogs etc the I would not recommend it. I am always amazed at how people choose to live here because it is in a natural setting then spend their time killing all the beasties. No sense in that.

"Could be better without the bogan surfers"

Nice, but bottle-blonde teenage bogans who visit the beach and drink nothing but Vodka Cruisers (such a classy drink) ruin its rep.

Actually, a lot needs to be said... Westminster borders Nollamara, and the whole area has a lot of excellent sporting clubs and community spirit. I moved to the area around four years ago and I am very happy here.

Passing through this area, you can't appreciate this area.

BargainCentral

I'm with you bextah, i've lived here for 3 years and love it. I can't believe it's so affordable and only 10km's from central Perth! AlBino must be a pom.

ksmlc

Having lived in Westminster, its actually good there. Good community friendly and caring neighbours many look out for one another, most people care for their gardens etc crime isnt too bad their and its central to everything. Its a reasonably quiet suburb and I would raise my kids there comfortably.

I have sold quite a few properties in Westminster, it is a great suburb with lots of young professionals. Close to shops, transport and many other community events. Every evening a lot of people can be seen walking their dogs at the local parks. Well located and affordable.

"There's nothing like the smell of factory fumes when popping-open a window"

The movie 'The Castle' had Michael Caton enjoying the "serenity" of living meters from an airport. In Balcatta, you can admire the serenity of living next to the Brownes Dairy industrial factory.

This guy is a troll. Pay no attention to his comments. I've lived in Beldon for 10 years and it's a safe and extremely undervalued suburb. Both my children attend the local primary school which is also excellent. I'll happily stay here for many years to come.

I've got to say that we lived in Beldon for 4 years and really always felt safe. It's a lovely place, superb high school and great amenities nearby. Easy access to the freeway and beach with lovely neighbours. I would rate Beldon far higher than Craigie.

New Clarkson is alright, however, I commend the brave souls who live in old Clarkson.

Well it is a shame you had to down grade to a smaller block when you could have saved heaps buying in old Clarkson and got more value for your dollar. I have lived in old Clarkson and dont see much of a difference except newer houses on smaller blocks. Both areas are great.
