Fortitude Valley

"Conveniently close to CBD & Airport"

If you're wanting to be as close as possible to both the airport & CBD for work; then it's hard to beat the Fortitude Valley due to it's quick access to toll-paid-tunnels, great choice of bars, restaurants, cafe's and heaps of gyms as well as a great public pool for athletes or the athletic minded.

Rent is fairly reasonable considering how close you are to the city centre & the fact that pretty much the whole suburb has access to TPG's FTTB fibre optic internet combined with great cellular coverage means high speed internet either via fibre optic cables or 4G is always available.

Many apartments have great views as well which is a plus.

The downside to living in "The Valley" is that it's the heart of the night club & strip club district as well as a Centrelink office which means day and night the streets are full of a large crowd consisting of drug addicts, homeless people & fairly drunk (often violent) patrons (particularly after dark) - due to being the centre for night clubs & strip clubs in Brisbane you have drunken idiots running through the streets 7 days a week once the sun goes down. (If you have children under 18 - the valley is definitely not for you)

Cigarette & Marijuana use is also very high in the valley so you often receive the complimentary pleasure of inhaling these noxious fumes from your neighbour above or below your balcony or bedroom window.

In conclusion; although the regular dregs of the nightlife can be down right annoying running in front of your vehicle @ 60km/h and the reality that you really don't want to walk down some streets after 7pm, the valley is very central and close to everything thanks to tunnels, rail services & a never-ending stream of Uber drivers waiting with baited-breath to whisk you away to your favourite bar or restaurant.
