"The best find for us, after years of searching!!"
My family’s lived in 3 different states.. VIC, NSW then QLD.
Got so tired of being crushed into the townhouses of Melb and Syd.. hearing your neighbours TVs. Also with our kids growing up, we needed the extra space. Finally we feel like we can actually breathe.
We wanted a place within striking distance of Brissy for work, but also somewhere with decent healthcare and a hospital.
We’re pleased with the schools here. The kids can walk home it’s so close by. And crime is basically non-existent (like a utopia compared to Melb/Syd/Bris). Fairly lucky in that regard actually compared to the rest of QLD! We moved down here 3 years ago from Bris and have never felt unsafe.
I hike on weekends now because the views of the mountains are just too good, never been this fit lol. And the kids finally have a backyard they can run around in, and enough room for the hubby to keep all his tools in.
Also the food is so fresh probably as it’s literally farmed down the road.
On the reports below of people being insular or feral.. I honestly haven’t noticed that yet (and I’ve been here 3 yrs). Maybe these were older reviews? Or regarding snobs that lived in a certain area? But I can’t say I’ve witnessed that. We have monthly dinner nights on the street I live in, and I’ve never heard our neighbours mention anything like that. They’ve said there’s more younger families moving out here recently from the cities, so that’s probably making the town more metropolitan which is good.
Only downside is the lack of a local Woolies or Coles. We do have an IGA but my kids need stuff that they don’t stock. So we just get our woolies delivered.
