"Close to the city but still green leafy"
We love living here, I have never felt safer. Plenty of great food and drink choices near by on Oxford Street and about three different parks within walking distance, if driving in peak hour there is a lot of traffic but it has excellent public transport options into the city. Great for professional couples and very family friendly.

I cant really understand people saying Runcorn is central to everything, maybe if you are student at Griffith and study at Mt Gravatt or Nathan or if you work at Garden City shopping centre but for anyone working in the city its a 45 to 60 minute drive with peak hour traffic the whole way. The city buses are completely unreliable and I wouldn't catch the train due to the crime that is always at the station. The amount of home theft in Runcorn gets higher every year with the suburb being ranked 3rd on RACQ's list of worst suburbs for home theft in Queensland, there was even a shooting outside the sushi train where the man shot died. I certainly do not feel comfortable walking by myself alone at night in this suburb anymore.
Great for
- Lots of new shops and restaurants
Not great for
- Lots of crime and theft
- Close to high crim suburbs
- Too far from the city
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
- Retirees
- Students
- Country Lovers
Having lived in Runcorn for over fifty years I may be a bit biased. Having it's own railway station is a definite bonus and there are plenty of BCC bus services https://jp.translink.com.au/plan-your-journey/journey-planner . Runcorn properties are far more economical then neighbouring suburbs of Sunnybank Hills, Calamvale, Stretton, Sunnybank
