Goodna

"Up-and-coming, rejuvenated, middle income, best-kept secret"

Goodna is currently being rejuvenated with middle-income people building and buying homes. It is currently affordable but getting more expensive versus 1 year ago, with prices trending up. Families buying would be young professionals, couples, families with young children, as well as retirees. There are old houses that need renovating and are being ‘flipped’ or kept in the family by some.

There is a convenient train station to both Ipswich or Brisbane, exit the M2 and straight down Centenary Highway to Brisbane, or the A7 / Ipswich road.

There are 2 shopping centres, 1. St Ives being currently renovated -fruit market, butcher, Woolies, gym, plenty of food options for pick up or delivery, and 2. IGA, closer to townhouses. Redbank centre a 5-min drive for movies and more shopping options, Springfield Orion 10-15mins.

There are chemists, bulk-billed and private medical/dental options, and great vets within the suburb.

Schools and plenty of childcare options available. We live in a quiet and secure pocket near the reserve. Council responds quickly to requests. Roads recently painted and street lights refreshed.

There is a boat ramp to the river with a place to sit for a small picnic, a riverside park, a skate park, a swimming centre, pathways through the reserves for walks, golf links, a services club, and pet training centre. NBN provides super high-speed internet.

In spring, the Jacarandas bloom beautifully in an avenue close to the train station and a Jacaranda festival is held.

We bought a home here 2 years ago and haven’t regretted the decision. We each drive 20 and 30 mins to work (BNE) and love coming home. Our kids take the train to their old schools for continuity. So to those wanting to get on the property ladder, find a quiet pocket of the suburb and enjoy your own slice of peace.
