Kealba

"Kealba - Between "Ke"ilor and St "alba"ns"

Being priced out of the east, we moved here to the Keilor side of this suburb few months ago after renting in inner-west for many years. Proximity to the city (20 mins toll and 30 mins freeway) as well as affordability was the deciding factor in our case. Calder freeway is a delight from Green gully road onwards. Tullamarine freeway widening, which is due for completion early next year is going to further ease our commute. Planning is underway for the M80 ring road from Sunshine avenue to Calder freeway which will add lanes easing traffic. Being a small suburb it doesn't have its own train station but buses are well connected and a 5 minute bus ride take you to Keilor Plains railway station.

Brimbank park is 2 minutes walk and Green gully reserve (undergoing plenty of renovation) is also 2 minutes walk. The Green Gully reserve has a driving school, dogs training, soccer club, tennis as well as cricket club. Brimbank park is absolutely wonderful. Although there are'nt any cafes in the near vicinity, we've got Kelior downs town centre for weekly grocerry shopping. Additionally, Highpoint shopping centre is 10 km away, Watergardens shopping center and Essendon DFO are both 5 kms away.

We envisage a bright future for this tiny suburb in the coming years due the following reasons;

Parks proximity
Proximity to Sunshine Hospital
Proximity to Shopping centres
Victoria University St Albans Campus
Melbourne CBD Proximity
Freeway access
St Albans and Sunshine gentrification
Tullamarine Freeway widening
M80 Ring road upgrade
