Spencer Street

"The New York End of Town"

Located in an enviable position just moments from public transport, sporting events, shopping, cafes, the casino, and the legal precinct, Spencer street is perfect for young professionals. True, parking may be a bit pricey and scarce, but with the great Southern Cross (formerly Spencer Street) Station at your doorstep and an abundance of tram services (including the free city circle tram) who needs to drive anyway?! Cost of living is often grossly exaggerated by the media in regards to this part of town and in my experience with budget stores like IGA, Coles and the Direct Factory Outlet in short reach, living is affordable for all. With the up and coming Docklands precinct just a short stroll away, Spencer street has the advantage of being ideally located close to the new entertainment facilities (the Southern Start, Medibank Ice house, Melbourne City Snow Park, Wonderland, SouthWarf DFO and Harbour Town) whilst still being in the CBD. Did I mention, Its pretty safe at night as well? There are always police patrolling the area, and crime rates have dropped immensely in the past decade because of this.

Great for

  • Close to EVERYTHING (casinos, clubs, cafes, sporting/concert arenas, CBD ...)
  • Well serviced by Public Transport
  • Resale and rental values reflect ideal nature of location!

Not great for

  • May get a bit noisy (but most apartments have sound-proof walls)
  • Parking and Traffic may deter those who like driving

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Tourists
  • Students
  • Trendy & Stylish
  • Beach Lovers
