"Community spirit and room to grow"

I have lived in Donnybrook's Olivine estate developed by Mirvac for two years. Initially, as with any new estate, amenities were minimal. We now have the Murnong Community Centre opening in a week's time, along with established Hume Grammar, Donnybrook Primary School, and the very popular Shared Cup Cafe, set next to the fabulous Gumnut Park playground. Regarding block size, there is a choice based on one's budget. Anything from 350 sq ft to your 600 sq ft corner blocks. There is a well-established and very active community group that organises events and encourages community participation and socialisation. I have lived in many areas around Greater Melbourne, and the neighbours I have now are the best I have ever had. Amazing wildlife, kangaroos, parrots, magpies and even had a wedge-tailed eagle visit a few months back. There is some crime, but I have seen worse in other places I lived.

Coles supermarket will be built in the next two years in a sizable town centre with 40 specialty stores, and it will be next to the community centre.

Traffic is an issue, especially if you need to use the Hume Freeway. The state government is upgrading the road, though it may take some time. More information on the Big Build website. We do have the V/line at Donnybrook station, Craigieburn and Mernda are a 15–20-minute drive away if you need a metro.

It isn't perfect yet, but it will be amazing once the rest of the amenities come in.
