Ashgrove

"Fantastic place to raise a Family"

We moved to Ashgrove with our two young boys almost two years ago after living in Paddington QLD for 5 years. Ashgrove is quiet and leafy with mostly period homes and some new contemporary homes springing up here are there. What attracted us was the number of parks and the great reputation of the local schools. I cannot speak highly enough about Ashgrove State School. It really is a wonderful school with great facilities and dedicated passionate teaching staff.
There are are range of restaurants and cafes in Ashgrove and you are only a short drive to some of the best eateries in Queensland at Paddington.
Ashgrove is close to the CBD while maintaining anough distance for air quality and peacefullness.
Probably the best thing about Ashgrove is the community spirit. People you meet in the street are friendly and neighbours are helpful. There are lots of families with children and our kids have made many friends in the area. I must mention the Ashgrove Rugby Club (GPS). This club has over 1000 members making it one of the largest clubs in Australia. I have never played rugby and didn't know the first thing about the game but the club welcomed us and my eldest son is back for his second season and loves it. It is a very social and well managed club that we can walk to from our home. The presence of great facilites and people make this a fantastic place to raise a family.
