Wheatley Road

"Nice suburb if you are passing by - but not that good to live in."

It really is a nice suburb except for the young punks that come from the rail station in the middle of the night and kick cans and hit fences to wake everyone. Just draw lines from the railway station and don't live in a path on any road from there.

Then there is the graffiti its everywhere, as soon as you clean it off its back.

The traffic has increased along Wheatley Rd over the past 5yrs, especially around Mckinnon Rd roundabout with more use of the short cut to Centre Rd and school and child care centres operating.

The dropping off of shops on McKinnon Rd also limits shopping by foot.

Basically I liked the idea of living in this street in this suburb but the reality proved too removed so I did the same myself.

Astute, I could not agree more. I live in Bent Street and have done so for approx 3 years, moving here from Caulfied. My property backs onto the train line and as I am elderly and have trouble sleeping anyway, I am woken often by the trains, barking dogs and disruptive youths.

I agree with the problems with youth in the area, the graffiti problem in the locality worries me. When my wife and I drive home from the doctors along McKinnon Road, we notice the graffiti is particularly bad on McKinnon Road between Jasper Road and Thomas Street.

Sycamore Avenue

"Peace and quiet and like a holiday area feel in the suburbs"

The street is not busy at all because it is second in from Lwr Dandenong Rd so no short cut. Plenty of green minded and friendly people make for a calm sociable environment.

Easy access to DFO, Southland, Parkdale shopping centres by car and walking distance from newly under development Thift shopping with $35M being spent.

Plenty of park space nearby to walk the kids to.
