Thompson Beach

"coastal living"

..A relatively new, well laid out coastal township. The beach is not a surfer’s beach; it is a beach for fishing crabbing and wildlife. The shallow waters make it fairly safe for all ages and the exposed beach at low tide makes it an ideal place to do a bit of land sailing. The coastal climate makes for interesting gardening with the milder winter temperatures, and cool afternoon summer breezes. The same breezes and the township lay out give opportunity to design a house and property that can have micro climates that vary considerably on the one allotment. There is no mains water, but installing a few large tanks easily over come that. Shopping can be done at near by Dublin at competitive prices, or things required for landscaping etc can be delivered from Two Wells at very good rates.
The shopping centers at Two Wells, Virginia, Gawler, Muno Para and Elizabeth mean that most things are just an easy drive away.
The community can also boast a community progress association, which publishes local news in the SHORBIRDS BULLETIN, and they conduct additional fundraising activities in the form of sausage sizzles, trailer hire, football tipping competitions and numerous other community activities.
Mosquitoes, can be a bit annoying during the cooler months of the year, but a couple hot days seem to thin them out, and much can be done to keep them under control at other times.
