This is a review for Springfield which is part of the "Greater Springfield development' which "includes' Springfield Lakes, so most of this will apply to Lakes also.

We chose Springfield over Springfield lakes due to cable Internet, mains Gas, and a little more bang for your $ when it comes to land size. Greater Springfield really is moving ahead with all sorts of new Business even in the last few months. Springfield itself gets a new shiny train station in 2013 which will lower commute times further and increase business options for greater Springfield.

Neighbors are great a lot of middle age quiet neighbors some with older kids. Closest I have seen to crime is a bit of tagging that tends to get wiped very quickly. We actually speak to our immediate neighbors fairly often by choice.

Due to a express train out of Gailes station, takes me about 22 mins on the train to the outer CBD and a 8 minute drive to station, very seldom varies. The full commute time is actually only about 10 mins more than say Corinda a suburb much closer to the CBD that has to use a all stations train. This may seem like a bit of a difference for some but when you look at the house price difference and the quality of what you get..... Springfield every time.

I have had a very good look around Brisbane and "some" of the areas rated above Springfield here are dumps by comparison. Don't waste 500-700K on a 1965 wooden shack 15km's from the CDB, it amazes me what people will pay forgetting that extra 200K is usually MANY years of extra work and savings.

Springfield is possibly a tad boring?, but really most of us don't want to live close to a lot of noise and attractions.
