Whittlesea

"A country town in a growth corridor"

Whittlesea is a safe area to live and work. After 8pm at night the streets are very quite. Not overly culturally diverse however has a good mix of country farmers and suburban folk. Two supermarkets in town carry most lines however you will pay a little bit extra in general than the big chain stores. Two fabulous hot chicken shops, Lilydale Chicken being my preferred shop. We have an excellent chemist and OPSM has just moved in across the road. A large medical clinic being constructed on Beech and Church St will add to the strong health services offered in Whittlesea. Ambulance has just been upgraded to 24hrs. Although the design of Whittlesea township is a little confusing with the Ambos out in the industrial area, CFA to be moved to Laurel St and the police building on the crn of Fir and Church St - better planning would have been to put all emergency services together. Whittlesea is sometime the forgotten child of its name sake council, with youth services probably lacking the most with things such as a gym, indoor pool and running track being services not offered yet. The council has capped growth of the town which helps to keep it a little special. Affordable nice homes. Public transport is a little light on with only buses running through town.
