I've only lived in Girrawheen for a few months and found it to be great so far. It's affordable to buy and close to the city. Your experience of Girrawheen will depend largely on what you're neighbours are like. I'm lucky to have good neighbours, who are all owner-occupiers. So, if you're looking for a place, suss out the neighbourhood first. There are quite a few messy, neglected-looking houses scattered throughout the suburb. Hopefully if rezoning occurs, this will change. Long term, Girrawheen has a lot of potential and should prove to be a good long-term investment.
