Camp Mountain

"The best of BOTH worlds"

Bought land in Camp Mountain in late 2020. Best views in Brisbane. Country community, character, style and new wealth. Camp Mountain property prices have recently skyrocketed (COVID related). Luckily we bought just before the boom. Where the suburb was affordable 2-3 years ago, this year it ranked 12th in QLD for the highest growth in 2021. I’m only surprised it didn’t happen sooner as its one of the closest acreage suburb to Brisbane city, within a few minutes of a charming country village (Samford) and with all of the offerings of an inner city location including fine dining, boutiques and community events. It boasts breath taking mountain views and all the best Australian wildlife has to offer (Kangaroos, echidnas, Koalas, wombats and birds of every colour of the rainbow). There is a multimillion dollar development happening at Ferny Grove rail precinct which will mean there will be a cinema and more cafe and retails options within minutes of the suburb. The enormous development happening in Keperra will also add value and interest to the area. There have been huge road upgrades and a trip to the city in peak hour only takes between 30 - 35 minutes depending on the day. Getting home is even faster - My record is 22 minutes from Queen street. There are three large scale developments happening in the Samford village including a boutique townhouse complex and two large retail developments. The drakes is amazing - more like an upmarket deli alike to those found in New Farm, boulangerie/patisserie and butcher all in one. The drakes has an aged meats fridge, a fresh orange juice station and the deli has home style meals for purchase as well as a full compliment of seafood and meats. Fresh cakes, breads, danish, croissants all made on site daily. The butcher next door is top notch, affordable, but upmarket. Fantastic fruit and vege shop with a bospoke collection of cheese, pestos and dips. An amazing sushi and Japanese hole in the wall, an authentic French patisserie and every other service you can imagine in the village. The train is 4 minutes from my block and there are buses up and down the main thoroughfares regularly for school connections. There are whispers about a possible reinstatement of a tram line connecting Camp Mt and Samford to Ferny Grove due to the population increase. Wow, what a prospect. In a few years, you won’t be able to buy land in the area anymore and more local whispers suggest that the zoning laws are likely to change within the next 10 years allowing certain areas to subdivide. Watch the money flow to the area! What an interesting 10 years ahead the suburb of Camp Mountain will have…. Feeling like a lucky investor.
