"A few bad apples,… every suburb has them"
Name a suburb in Western Sydney where you don’t have reports of theft, vandalism and other crimes. You can go to Mosman and spend $6m on the nicest street on the nicest home. It wont stop someone from breaking in and attaching a bomb around your neck.
South Windsor is less then an hour from the city and provides very affordable living. Where else in Sydney can you buy a free standing brick home for under $350,000 which is minutes from Windsor and Richmond which boasts a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. South Windsor is minutes from Hawkesbury River which has some great spots in the Summer time. South Windsor itself provides basic shopping options, gyms, an established aquatic centre, sporting centres which cater to sports such as basketball, indoor soccer, touch football, netball, volleyball and many more. This also accommodates all ages.
There are no more vacant building blocks in South Windsor. Old homes are being removed and replaced by new developments. This is quickly improving the area making it more appealing to investors and first home buyers.
After eight years I have never had my house or car broken into. I have never been mugged or harassed. 95% of the people are genuine and friendly, and as with every area the remaining 5% can be scum bags. I have caught the train late at night on several occasions and never feared for my safety.
I would recommend this area to anyone looking to buy affordable living with the potential of significant capital gain. There are only two or three bad streets which give the area a bad reputation. If you don’t know these streets you will when you drive down them. Otherwise the remanding areas are quite nice.
Great for
- Affordable living
- Plenty of Schools
- Little Traffic
Who lives here?
- Singles
- Families with kids
- Retirees
Hi Lisa, I would avoid the streets surrounding the leisure centre/south Windsor shops etc. The better side is near the netball courts.
THANKYOU!! Much appreciated
Hi Brianm, I'm thinking about buying a house in the area. Are you able to let me know which streets to avoid? Or can you recommend which streets are best to buy in? Thank you
