Birrell Street

"Gets Better and Better as you go East."

Such a looooong street, but the Bronte section is the best section.
Once you get past Murray St you lose about 70% of the traffic so it suddenly becomes a much quieter street.
The Southern side of the street is Bronte, the Northern side of the street is Bondi. The Bronte side gets a bit a premium simply because it is in the catchment for Bronte Public, which is a huge draw for a lot of families. Also lots of daycare centres within walking distance.
Waverley College is walking distance up Birrell St.
Easy walk to Bondi Road shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and transport.
At the end of Birrell St are the steps down through the gully to Tamarama Beach and Bronte Beach is also a quick stroll even for little ones.
Lovely cafes just around the corner.

Great for

  • Quieter down Bronte end.
  • Close to shops, schools, transport and beaches
  • For a big street it's surprisingly social - we've met so many neighbours!

Not great for

  • Very busy further up.
  • Garbage deliver on one side of the street one night and the other side the next!
  • Tama steps are easier on the way down than the way back up!

Who lives here?
