"Quiet Highett, a friendly community"
The thing we most love about living in quiet Highett is the friendliness of the people and the strong sense of community. Our neighbours have been welcoming and always up for a chat or some excuse for a catch up. Rich friendships have been formed over book club (six of us and counting) and our rollicking conversations accompanied by bubbles! The people are real - all of us from different backgrounds, all with mortgages and household budgets, some with kids and some without but all sharing in our coveting of family and appreciation of our good fortune. Our street is so quiet and beautiful and green. Mornings are delightful and heralded by the clear as a bell calling of birds shortly before daylight. Summer is just great. A couch to 5 walk at least twice a week, and this to the beach and back, a cool drink on the deck late afternoons looking up to a pink sky. Christmas day, a walk to see the Christmas lights at Dalmont street an absolute must!
Highett has regenerated with many young families coming into the area and why wouldn't people want to come to Highett? Close to everything that you could need, health services, shops, parks and transport. The wonderful St. Aggies Primary school, a local treasure and just a stone's throw away in Petersen street. Many stylish new houses are being built as part of Highett’s transformation and the Highett road shopping strip is being polished up. It is a place that we are very lucky to call home.
