Burleigh Waters

"The suburb that is the envy of other Gold Coasters"

We moved up to the Gold Coast 18 years ago. We stayed at Burleigh Heads until we checked out other suburbs and options. Homes in Burleigh Heads can be a little too noisy for families but Burleigh Waters has lovely little pockets of residential streets that have a sense of community and are very friendly. Other than one sojourn for a couple of years we have settled into Burleigh Waters, first renting then buying in the same suburb. Our street is tucked away and we didn't even know it existed until we went to see our house when it was up for sale. There are only 10 houses in our street. 2 people have lived there for over 20 years, one couple moved in last year because her parents lived there and now 2 families (parents and their adult children) have bought a house each in the street because they had waited years to buy in that street. I feel safe to be there alone when my husband travels with work, not very common for women to feel safe these days.

Burleigh Waters is close to beach, shopping, schools and parks with lots of walking tracks. Public transport is always a problem on the Gold Coast unless you live right on the tourist strip so having a car makes life easier. Friends and work colleagues living on the GC and interstate always sigh in admiration when they find out where we live. It's great for families, couples, retirees...well anyone except those wanting to live in high rise yuppy places (you can find them not too far away as well). Don't choose anywhere else until you try Burleigh Waters.

Could I ask you what streets you consider the safest and family friendly ( no drug dealers) as you will know the area well .
Thank you in anticipation .
