Port Kembla
28th October 2025
"come on down"
We bought a house in Port Kembla in 2025. I come from Sydney's inner west and what drew us to Port was the vibe. The main Street is a classic Pine lined retail and light industrial avenue. Sure, it's been a while since its heyday and there are plenty of vacancies, but this place is evolving into something special. No baubles or glitz but the genesis of a place with soul and an embrace of the creative.
When we went out on a Saturday to check out a local venue we found ourselves in pleasant and familiar company.
If you have had enough of the car park called Sydney then make your way south to Port Kembla for some space.
All the essentials are here - good coffee and a 6 kilometre long beach that is dog friendly.
Who lives here?
- Singles
- Families with kids
