Sherwood Drive

"Always the sound of birds and the smell of fresh air!"

I have lived in Glenalta for the last two years and love it. Miriad parks and reserves, winter creeks, beautiful parrots everywhere, spotting Koalas (once in my backyard!). My children attend local schools and we have been happy with them. The local primary is an easy walk away and the high school a short bus ride or 30 minute walk. Most houses have tree top views and lovely outlooks. Local shopping is fine for groceries and there are some good coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. If you enjoy poking around in op (charity) shops the area has about 5 within walking distance of each other. Public transport is good, we can walk to the train station in 8 minutes but can barely hear the trains.
On the warning side, this is a bushfire risk zone and you must be aware of and plan for this. The area is hilly and you pay for views with stairs and steep driveways in many homes. Homes down in the valley may be dark and chilly in winter. I would not recommend the area for people with mobility issues due to steep hills and lack of proper footpaths in many streets. Some homes do suffer badly from rail noise so best to research this before you buy or rent in the area.
