New Lambton Heights

"Clean, Green & lots of peace & quiet"

New Lambton Heights is a green, leafy suburb located to the West of the City of Newcastle. It is close to the largest hospital outside the Sydney metro area - The John Hunter Hospital. It's demography is typically a cross section of profesionals and business people including sucessful tradies, with anything from new starter families to retirees. It is typically very hilly and a bit difficult to cycle/walk around due to the topography. Overall it is a quiet and respectable neighbourhood with houses ranging from fibro cottages (one or two early settlers) to mansions to above average houses to knock-down-rebuilds. New Lambton Heights is also centrally located to Newcastles main shopping centers - Westfield Kotara, Charlestown Square and Stockland Glendale. The schooling in the area is some of the best in the city especially New Lambton Public School. It's pretty well centrally located to get into the City of Newcastle - the F3 - Newcastle University - The John Hunter Hospital - The Mater Hospital and then into some of the worlds best beaches, vineyards and wild country like the Barrington Tops etc. Port Stephens a holiday mecca is only a half hour or so drive to the north as well. There is an abundance of birdlife and lots of friendly possums and like them or loathe them reptiles !

Great for

  • Clean, Green, Leafy - lots of big trees & accompanying wildlife
  • Close to everything but feels like you live in the bush
  • Generally quiet - you can be friendly with your neighbours - but don't feel like you live in their pocket

Not great for

  • Hilly
  • Mosquito's
  • Not enough footpaths people tend to walk on the road
