Thallon

"A great place to grow up..."

We moved here when I was 6, and I wouldn't look back! As a teenager, the worst part of boredom, but all in all I just made my own hobbies. Now as an adult, I can really appreciate the quiet, simple life that is Thallon. I never got up to trouble, I could always be outdoors, the real friends were the ones that made an effort to visit and everyone in the community was like an aunt or uncle. The primary school is wonderful, with just 30 kids, we all got along and there was no room for bullying. In high school, it was a bit of a hike to get to St George everyday, but I made the most of the time on the bus to think/read/wind down from the day. It taught me commitment to my hobbies, because if I wanted to do something in St George after school I had to plan it and stay with a friend. I never learned to idolize material things, because there wasn't much in the way of fashion, or 'new' things out there. I learned to work, in the sun, in the heat, in a range of different jobs which made me tougher than I could be if I lived in the city. And we learnt to have fun of our own imaginations.
