The locals are generally cold, arrogant and unfriendly. They think they can get away with it. They wouldn't know hospitality if it bit them on the backside. I've been told stories of people leaving the town because of bullying in workplaces. Has that toxic vibe about it. Many attest that it's a "schoolyard mentality" amongst the adults. There's prejudice in the town towards the local Indigenous that keeps them excluded and out of opportunities. Big problem with drugs and alcohol abuse. High crime rate. Minimal public transport. Council rates are increasing but of no benefit to residents, just more money for Council to spend on stadiums and the like to keep tourism coming in. Neighbours on the street don't talk to each other. Wouldn't recommend this place to live.
