Have lived in Watsonia North for over a year. It is a quiet, tree lined area with parks and sporting facilities close by. Friendly family atmosphere with mostly owner occupied families in medium to large homes.
Watsonia shopping strip isn't far away and the local council is spending money in this area, however it's still not cosmopolitan and looks a little dated. One nice cafe and a wine bar popped up recently so it looks like things are slowly improving.
There is some traffic noise from the northern ring road and the North East Link road works will be carrying on for 5 years. While this will undoubtedly be good for the area, it's something to consider in the short term.
Overall, a quiet area, good for raising kids and working from home, but not particularly exciting.
