I’ve lived in Goonawarra, Sunbury, for 23 years. We are in a small court with fabulous neighbours. It’s quiet and peaceful with a country feel but close to everything- shops, transport, schools, parks, great leisure facilities and lovely walks (which were very much appreciated in lockdown). Our neighbours have for the most part been here a long time as well and are friendly but respectful of everyone’s privacy. We’ve never had an issue with crime here- we travel a lot and nothing has ever been a problem. The city commute is getting harder with growing traffic but it’s still much better than from the east or the south. Sunbury is growing a lot- many new subdivisions are going in, so the town will inevitably change, but we’re still happy here. If you want peace and quiet but good access to the city (and the beautiful Macedon ranges), I’d recommend it. Property values are still relatively good but going up steadily.
