They don't burn coal... It's gas fed from the DBNGP(Dampier Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline), what a silly comment. They use gas to burn shell grit to make lime to produce the concrete that the house you are in sits on. Your comment reeks of NIMBYism.

EDIT: Apologies, they are still burning coal currently per this article - https://junctionjournalism.com/2022/05/31/coal-on-cement-plant-backburner/. They aren't supposed to be burning coal anymore now that they are gas fed from the DBNGP(Dampier Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline). They use gas to burn shell grit to make lime to produce the cement for the concrete our houses are built on. While your comment does reek of NIMBYism, I sympathize, they should not be burning coal this close to residential, however, you can't buy a house near a cement plant then complain that there is a cement plant nearby. It's like buying a house next to a pub and complaining about the music.
