Altona

"Near the city with a country fell"

Altona is a very peaceful, quiet and easy place to live and to get around. It has stacks of parks and sporting amenities and also nice places to eat without being yuppy like Williamstown. It has a really villiage feel but wont appeal to trendies like Yarraville does. It is really great place if you walking in the parks with your kids, or dogs either around Cherry Lake or along the Beach.

Great for

  • Many shopping options and generally easy to park and not too busy
  • Bayside, Huge Cherry Lake, 3 Rivers, Nature Reserves, Parks, Large open spaces
  • Many sports clubs, Arts & Community Centre, Theatre, Museum, Golf course, Bayside Festival, Beach Market, many recreation activities
  • Proximity to CBD, 3 Zone 1 Train Stations, No throughput traffic, Safe & Quiet, Low Population Density
  • Perfect lifestyle for any age or interests
  • Friendly residents & great community feel

Not great for

  • It has not much nightlife but families with young kids will think this is great!
  • Oil Refinery & Industries - but these are located fairly far away from residential areas
  • Has seaweed problems
  • Hoons and stupid people in the beach during summer
