"Beautiful place to live. Shame about the business practices by some"
Lovely place to live. Have been here 18 months and absolutely love it. Affordable housing in many areas and a huge range of shopping options. Beautiful parks and a never ending amount of food, activities and festivals. I also love the quick 1 hour drive down to Melbourne to visit family.
The only downside that still leaves a sour taste about Ballarat is the amount of simply down right dishonest businesses we encountered during moving & living here. All are/were locally owned businesses and to experience so many in such a small space of time is concerning.
When it comes to mortgage lending groups, real estate agents, furniture removal co's and un switched conveyancers do your research and never rely solely on written reviews

I am so sorry you feel this way. I have been in Real Estate for just on 9 years and have sold many houses to Melbourne and Interstate buyers. I have many testimonials of happy customers.
I would love to have a coffee with you and let you know what great opportunities with the businesses you have mentioned. We currently have over 20 families moving here per week! They tell me what attracted them to our City. It is our schools, health system, cheaper housing than Melbourne and healthy lifestyle. They can still work in Melbourne and commute or alot work a couple of days in Melbourne and work from home for the rest. it is a great life/work balance.
