"Affordable, good weather and competent council,"
Having lived in Warwick several times, have lived in Launceston Tasmania, a few places in the Northern Rivers region of NSW and a few years in Redcliffe Qld I can honestly say Warwick in my experience is better to live.
We are a family and rent, have been back in Warwick since 2017.
Overall the people and businesses are friendly, everything you need is here, several primary schools, high school, TAFE, a good
Hospital, more then enough grocery outlets, a few bakeries, although I don’t think any can bake a decent loaf lol, sadly no brumbies bakery.
Climate is what you expect in southern Queensland, hot summer and a cold winter, we quite like living in an area with distinct seasons, you have stews in winter and salads in summer.
The drought finally broke in this region going on 18 months ago and the region has had fantastic weather, so all the rain and glorious days has created a lot of grass growing lol, we have been mowing as often as every 4th day so I have noticed even the local council has been struggling to keep the parks under control.
As for location, We have a daughter at Alexandra Hills in Brisbane and in 2 hours we are at her place, same as our son at the Gold Coast only 2 hours away.
Not that we visit often, traffic, noise, fumes etc why would we want to.
When we visit everything is so far from where they live, want a zarraffas coffee it’s a 10 minute drive away, shops are 15 minutes away, 20 if the traffic is thick how is city living convenient lol in Warwick nothing is more than 5 minutes away.
We love the place.
