Wynnum

"Defaulted to Wynnum, loving it."

It was a happy accident. I had moved to Manly in 2009 and started looking for a house to buy in 2010. I wasn't in a rush and values were relatively stable, so I wasn't going to get suddenly priced out of the market. Wynnum was my local town for shopping. Manly was overpriced in my opinion. Wynnum which was traditionally a more blue collar town gave a lot more bang for my buck. My better half is Wynnum born and bred and is totally biased. I looked at a few dozen properties and chose one that I liked. I have grown to love the town. It's not perfect. Nowhere is. If you are considering moving here take a cold hearted look at what is here. Odds on you will be pleasantly surprised. Plaza, New Woolworths, library. Community centre. Biggest off leash park in Brisbane. The walk along the esplanade in the cool of the evening cannot be matched. The wading pool, barbecues and facilities are clean and well maintained. I don't work in the city now, but when I did the train was the way to go. There is crime in Wynnum as there is in any suburban town. I don't think it is worse than anywhere else around here, but if you are concerned check Qld Police website for the incident map. It will allow you to have a good overview. I don't intend selling any time soon.
