Quiet in the shoulder months enough for quiet introspection whether you're a writer, a painter, a beachcomber or just want to walk your dog in solitude. Vibrant in summer when the beaches come alive with colour. Always somewhere to stay; there's no lack of motel, B&B, private houses to rent or camping ground accommodation. Four op-shops (count them) for cheap and cheerful supplies of everything the holidaymaker or permanent resident could glean for next to nothing. Did I mention the locals are friendly?
