I lived in Mt barker Town for 1.5 years whilst I built on small acreage, about 3km out of town. I was impressed by the neighbourly attitudes, I lived in the hills outside of Perth for a 10 years and in the city before that. I have never had the experience of knowing all of my surrounding neighbours and nearly every one in the street by the end of 3 months. I have now been living in Mt Barker for a little over 2 years and it has everything I need or require on a daily basis, anything more can be found in Albany 30 minutes away.
