Hawthorne
"Best inner ring suburb for young families"
Moved into Hawthorne in 2009 and it is the best suburb for young families:
- Oxford Street, Bulimba a short drive or walk.
- Some of Brisbane's best parks for kids (Hawthorne Park, the park near Hawthorne ferry stop, Love Street Park, Oxford Street Park... most riverside parks)
- Many kid friendly activities (Hawthorne markets, Bulimba markets, Ooniverse cafe, many toddler swim schools nearby)
- Fast drive into CBD/Fortitude Valley (10 mins off-peak (leave before 7.30am/20-25 mins peak)
- Bus/Ferry options
- 30 min bike commute to city
- Safe
- Quiet
- Community
Great for
- Best parks in Brisbane
- Great public transport options
- Great schools
- Leafy and green, close to city but has its own community feel.
Not great for
- Morning traffic into the city
