Upwey

"We ♥ Upwey"

We moved here six years ago from Carlton as a young couple to buy our first home. We chose Upwey for its beauty, proximity to the city and affordability. Since moving here Upwey has only improved with new yummy cafes excellent vietnamese and pizza restaurants. We live 5 mins walk from the main street/train station on a big block with stunning views of the city and port phillip bay. There's absolutely no way we could have afforded the same quality of life we have here living in the city. Upwey has a brilliant community vibe with the market, billy cart race and cfa jumble sale featuring as events where everyone gets together. It really is a hidden gem and a beautiful place to live. We love Upwey!

Great for

  • Beautiful views
  • Close to the city but without the feeling that you're living in suburbia
  • Big blocks, character homes
  • Pretty good public transport options
  • Quiet, leafy, nice break from city
  • Value for money housing
  • Great community involvement
  • Has everything one needs and more

Not great for

  • Hour drive out of city if you like going out
  • Sloping land - hard to find flat block!
