Coolum Beach

"Coolum Beach, my home town"

I lived in Coolum for 22 years, I remember it being dirt roads, having wild life in your back yard, a place where everyone knew everyone. Coolum has definitely grown since then but I still hold it close to my heart.

Even with all the development to meet the growing demands of population and the unfamiliarity of faces its still a beautiful place to be. Its fast growing into a little boutique suburb on the Sunshine Coast, and I have to say I love this feeling!

The beach is usually quite nice, you can go for walk up to Pt Perry and see views all the way up to Noosa. If you have the money why not buy/rent along beach and you will most likely have views of the ocean. Everywhere in Coolum is mostly walking distance, so getting the children to school is easy as, or what if you wanted to go out for dinner and a drink, no need to worry about driving as you can just walk home.

The night life could be a bit better but I'm sure over time this will improve. It is also very touristy in Summer which drove me nuts.

Overall it is quite a safe, easy going place to be. Coolum was once a hippy town where all the baby boomers once holidayed and most of them loved it so much they stayed and brought there families up there. But now it is fast changing into a great boutiquey suburb.

Suitable for families, singles, couples, retirees... anyone really whose wanting to live near the beach but not feel isolated from society.
