Upper Coomera is a good option for families who want to live in Gold Coast. There is a Westfield in Coomera so you have most things you could need. But still you need to go into Helensvale or Southport for some things. I found the neighbourhood safe and friendly and a different vibe from Surfers which is pretty ratchet. It' ls still expensive, everywhere is in GC now and too many people have moved here from Victoria and NSW so many locals have has to move elsewhere for lack of housing and it has changed the vibe. Overall I don't recommend Gold Coast in general for families.
