Cooranbong

"A small town, everyone knows everyone, buses suck!"

I lived in the ‘bong most of my life. Once you move there it’s hard to escape, haha, everyone ends up knowing you and 98% of the people who live there are really friendly people. I have now moved away from there but still visit from time to time and they still know me by name.

The bad side to Cooranbong is that life without a car is pretty sucky to get around. The bus service is unreliable and most of the time if you want to be out earlier then 6:30am and later then 7pm on a week day or early then about 10am and later then about 4pm on a Saturday, then you have to rely on a taxi (expensive), Uber (hardly ever available in the bong) or family and friends with a car (depends on how supportive they are, this is your best bet).

But other then that, Cooranbong is a good place and has a few local attractions, like churches (known for SDA churches, we have 3 in Cooranbong alone!), The Elephant Shop (AMAZING variety of crystals and other fantastic gifts), access to the Watagan Mountains, Aladdin’s (although not longer called that, it’s the takeaway shop near The Elephant Shop). Yeah, you could say Cooranbong is amazing...
