Have lived in Bassendean for 7 years now. Whilst it does have some good points such as being close to shops and transport, unfortunately Bassendean is a target for theives coming from surrounding suburbs.
Bassendean Town lacks atmosphere with many shops becoming vacant. Council and Mayor seem too concerned with steam weeding and environmental aspects, rather than proper maintenance of the town, targeting crime etc etc.
Lots of rentals, many ugly units going up and residents don't really like to take care of their properties. Lack of good schools in the area.
We will be leaving to a better suburb when the market picks up!
