We made the move from the inner west a few years ago. We moved from a tiny place to a lovely house with a yard and pool for the kids, National Park and River on the doorstep, south coast beaches close by and lovely little school everywhere.
It's 30 mins by train in to the city so the commute is no longer than when we were in the inner west!
We have wonderful like-minded neighbours from all over the world- England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Samoa as well as from all over Australia, who have all moved here over the last few years for the same reasons we did - it's the perfect location. We know all our neighbours which is lovely.
The night life is fairly non-existent that's true, though there are some great restaurants - Little Italy, Sushi train, Doytao Thai as well as others within a couple of kms.
In the last 12 months Superbarn has moved in as well as an Egyptian deli, a patisserie and some new restaurants. The council has also recently repaved and greened up the area with a lot of tree planting.
The pre-schools and primary schools are so lovely. Beautiful, caring teachers at all the places we have been involved with.
We are so glad we made the move and the area is just getting better all the time.
