"Moved here 10 years ago, never want to leave!"
Nestled within the caldera of Mt Warning is the picturesque little town of Murwillumbah. Take a walk around this hilly little neighbourhood and you will find breath taking vistas of Mt Warning, Springbrook, the Cougals and the Tweed River. The centre of town is blossoming into a hub of art galleries, cafes and boutique gift stores with a nightlife starting to develop at some recently opened cocktail and wine bars.
There is a wonderful choice of top quality schools to choose from. I cannot say enough good things about Sathya Sai College, if you get the opportunity, check it out. And Murwillumbah High School is constantly turning out wonderfully creative, talented, amazing young adults thanks to the strong music and performing arts focus of the school, definitely a stand out of the region.
The Murwillumbah community has proven itself to be one which 'looks out for its own', constantly rallying to lend a hand during difficult times. We moved to this town 10 years ago, not knowing a soul, and have chosen to raise our 3 children here with no plans of leaving.
The climate is beautiful, there is no shortage of surrounding villages to be explored on bike or by car, national parks and waterholes to exllore on foot. Every day I wake up and and feel blessed to live in this town.
Positives:

Location/natural environment
Safety, peaceful neighbourhoods
Plenty of doctors surgeries
Negatives:

House prices

Homelessness
Smokers

Agreed- so many good schooling options in the area. I had forgotten the Hare Krishna school! Sathya Sai, The Small School, Aeotomah Steiner School all within commuting distance!
Do you know much about the Hare Krishna school? As for "smokers" being a negative about the town, there's smokers everywhere, unfortunately.
