Kurmond

"Great for the family"

Kurmond is great little suburb for raising a family with a variety of acreage blocks as well as a limited number of good sized suburban blocks around 1/3 acre, for those who want the feeling of being rural and having space without the rural upkeep. There is a local school in Kurmond and a selection of a about four other public schools and fantastic independent school nearby. The local shopping centre has a village atmosphere with virtually everything you need available in the ten or so shops there. There's Kurrajong Village a hop skip and a jump away and several large shopping centres and big supermarkets a few minutes down the hill in Richmond and North Richmond.
There's an eat-in restaurant of passable quality on Bells LIne of Road and a posh and delicious 2 hat restaurant about ten minutes up the hill at Kurrajong Heights.
Sadly no pub in the area, but that limits the number of drunken idiots on a Saturday night anyway.
The locals range in age from young families to older people, and horsey types, and they seem to be a variety of professions from manual jobs to corporate management types who commute to town.
Not alot of ethnic diversity though there is a cross section of straight and gay couples and some artistic and acting types too.
Public transport is not great though there seems to be plenty of school buses to local schools and private schools further afield.
Honestly there's something for everyone here, and it's not too built up either!
