The growing community of New Epping continues to surge forward with a number of wins for the City of Whittlesea in the 2019–20 Victorian State Budget, including an investment of $50 million into the Growing Suburbs Fund.

Increased demand at The Northern Hospital will be addressed with the development of a children’s emergency department. This will also complement New Epping’s seven-hectare health and wellbeing precinct and alleviate pressure for the growing population in accessing primary health care.

Educational opportunities will also increase with funding for Edgars Creek Primary School and Edgars Creek Secondary College stage two developments that will see additional buildings constructed, and one of seven new early parenting centres for Victoria.

The plan also earmarks funds to connect the Plenty River Trail with Mernda and Hawkestowe stations in order to provide a link for cyclists to the Yarra River Trail, the CBD, and beyond.
