Hawthorne

"Leafy, friendly and quiet but close to everything"

Hawthorne is a lovely, leafy, riverside suburb with parks; views; a neighbourly feel; and the afternoon breeze on a hot, summer day. It has great state schools and private schools where walk or bus options are both easy. The city, the Valley and the Gabba are close and easy to get to by car, taxi (not a big fare) or public transport - bus, train and ferry - but we also have our own cinema (4 screens), cafes, boutiques, gym, bottleshops, hairdressers, doctors, etc., etc. in a community environment rather than in a big shopping centre. Bulimba is just down the road for anything else we might need, like the supermarket and delis. Also easy to get to and from the airport but far enough away to not suffer from unpleasant plane noise.

Great for

  • Leafy and green, close to city but has its own community feel.
  • Great schools
  • Great public transport options

Not great for

  • Morning traffic into the city
